In one sentence: VOXA is a wellness, self-awareness and educational tool that shows reproducible indicators derived from the sound of your voice — it is not a medical device, it does not diagnose anything, and it is never a substitute for a qualified healthcare professional.
Not a medical device
VOXA has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Health Canada, the European Union's notified bodies, the UK MHRA or any other regulator as a medical device. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate or prevent any disease, disorder or condition, and it does not provide medical, psychological or nutritional advice.
Indicators, not measurements or diagnoses
- The biochemical-tendency panel (neurotransmitters, hormones, minerals, vitamins, toxin load) shows tendencies inferred from voice acoustics. It is not a blood test and does not measure any substance in your body.
- The voice-pattern indicators are ranked into evidence tiers. Even Tier 1 findings reflect research associations between voice features and conditions; they never confirm that you have, or do not have, any condition.
- Results are reproducible — the same recording gives the same output — but reproducible does not mean clinically validated. Recording conditions, microphones, illness such as a cold, fatigue and language can all change results.
- Do not start, stop or change any medication, supplement, diet, treatment or therapy because of a VOXA result. Ask a qualified professional, who can order proper tests.
Emergencies
If you think you may be having a medical emergency, call your local emergency number immediately (for example 911 in Canada and the United States, 112 in the European Union, 999 in the United Kingdom). If you are in emotional distress, contact a local crisis line or emergency services. Do not use VOXA in an emergency.
Balancing audio
The personalised balancing soundscape is intended for relaxation and focus only. It is not a treatment and has no proven therapeutic effect on any condition. Listen at a comfortable volume. Do not listen while driving, operating machinery or doing anything that requires your full attention. If you have epilepsy or a seizure disorder, a cardiac device, or any condition that you think could be affected by rhythmic sound, ask your doctor before using binaural-beat audio. Stop listening if you feel any discomfort.
Facial micro-expression analysis
Facial analysis is optional; the video stays on your device and only facial measurements are analysed. It estimates emotional and physiological state from facial movement; facial expression varies widely between people and cultures and is not a reliable indicator of any medical or mental-health condition on its own. Analyse only your own face, or that of someone who has given informed consent.
Research and blog content
Our blog, The Voice Files, discusses documented research alongside historical claims, controversies and unverified reports, and labels them as such. Research figures quoted there come from individual studies and trials, not from approved clinical tests. The content is for general information and interest only.
